The comfort zone is a really comfortable place, I know that for sure. I’m also not the kind of person who wants to go out of her comfort zone the whole time.
But I know now that life is more fun outside of my comfort zone and you should try it out too. You can take it slow and make one step at a time. Start small, so that your procrastination doesn’t start to interfere.
Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.
– Arthur Ashe
So many people (including me) are waiting in their comfort zone on the couch for something to happen. But nothing is happening there and our TV and the internet are stopping us from thinking about it. Every day is the same and nothing is happening. That feeling and experience happen to me almost every holiday, I’m kinda just waiting for the university to start again.
But we have to stop this time-wasting and life-wasting habit NOW. By slowly changing our habits and routines we can get out of this depressing comfort zone. Make exceptions to your routines like going for a walk in the morning instead of having breakfast in front of your TV. Check out events in your area that sound interesting and then go there. You don’t have to be outside and without TV a whole day, just take small steps toward the borders of your comfort zone.
If your loved ones want to do something with you, then go out and spend time with them. Your TV series and books will be there tomorrow too, but spending time and making new experiences is not waiting for you to show up.
By making exceptions to your routines and going out of your comfort zone, you can experience your happiest moments. Our time in front of the TV will not be our happiest time in life.
Change your life today. Don’t gamble on the future, act now, without delay. – Simone de Beauvoir
What if you’re not motivated? I get that feeling a lot, especially also with writing these posts. But the best advice I’ve read is that you just start doing it and then you get motivated while doing it. By doing the thing you’re not motivated to do, you will get motivated.
Whenever I’m not motivated to write something, I say to myself that I will just write 100 words that’s not much and after I started writing I’m getting motivated anyways.
The best things happening in your life is when you’re going out of your comfort zone and you’re experiencing an adventure. Think big and then do it and you will see that there is so much possible in your life than you could have ever imagined.
It always seems impossible until it’s done.
– Nelson Mandela
But there is one thing you should remember while doing all that stuff out of your comfort zone: don’t say yes to everything and everyone, because if you’re doing it all the time you won’t have time anymore to work on your dreams or other important stuff that gets you where you want to go.
You don’t have to go out of your comfort zone every day because that’s exhausting and you need time to recover too. Some things and people are worth spending time on but choose wisely.
Now go outside your comfort zone and start living your life!
Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.
– Carol Burnett
