Get A Bigger Return On Investment By Investing In Yourself – Investiere in dich selbst

A few months ago I wrote down some tips about saving money. And because of those I saved some Euros and now I don’t know what I should do with it. The money is now in a bank account, on which the interest rate is low and each day the money gets less worth.

But what should I do with that saved money, I asked myself and read some articles about stock, funds and how to invest in the best companies, but everything was too risky for me.

Then somewhere I read that it is more profitable and better to invest in yourself. Because then you know how the money got spent and how to get the money or experiences back.

Educate yourself or make new experiences! It’s always profitable because you’re always learning something from it and then you can get more successful. So you also have more motivation to do something because you believe in yourself and that’s why you’re investing in yourself.

For example I’m investing now in my new studies, a library membership card and a course to learn Spanish. I don’t know yet if the course or the studies are meaningful for my career or my future, but I know that I’m having fun and I will travel to a Spanish-speaking country again soon. 😉

When you’re investing in shares you’re trusting a company by giving them money Why shouldn’t you have more trust in yourself because you know yourself really good and additionally you will have control over the expenses and incomes.

In this way you’re also taking responsibility over yourself, your money and your future because you want to have a big return on investment.

There are so many possibilities how to educate yourself and to experience new stuff:

  • Books and libraries. You can learn so much by reading books. Just look for a topic you’re interested in.
  • Online courses. There are so many online courses about any topic you can think about. Just take a look at FutureLearn or Coursera, there you can even get free courses.
  • New sport or dance. Have you ever wanted to try out or learn new things? How about pole dancing or climbing? There are so many possibilities and courses near to you. Just ask at the next gymnastics club or sport club. Sport is important for your health and you’re making new experiences.
  • New music instrument. If you like music, you should try out a new music instrument. You don’t have to buy an expensive instrument for that. Maybe your family has some old one standing around, borrow one or buy a secondhand online.
  • Go into a museum or exhibition. Take a look at the museums near to you and visit one you find interesting. You can even go alone and then stay there for hours just for looking at pictures, sculptures or scientific information.
  • Private tutoring or coaching. You want to learn something intensively? Then search for a person or coach which has those skills you want to learn and then take lessons.
  • Seminars or fairs. Maybe there is a fair near to you in the future? Just go there and learn something new and ask questions. I was at an Interior Design fair last year even though I wasn’t moving, building a house or decorating. I was just interested in it and I learned some new stuff.
  • Tutorial videos. Youtube is a really big and free platform where there are so many different tutorials about everything. Just take a look.

Additionally it’s important that you also invest time into your education and experiences. Because money itself cannot make you more intelligent you also have to apply, learn and discover it. It doesn’t make no sense to just listen to videos and Audiobooks because you will not learning anything by just listening to it.

It’s not important that you will get talented or successful by investing in yourself. It’s important to you discover new stuff and learn for life because then the investment was worth it and someday you will need everything you learned.

So invest in yourself instead of in big companies which you don’t know personally.
