If You Want To Increase Your Motivation, You Should Just Start Doing

Do you ever have that kind of day which is boring and your mood is down because you’re not motivated and you didn’t do anything yet?

What you need to know about those days is: this day is not over yet. You can still do something to turn this around and make it a day where you achieved more than the day before.

The day is not over yet and you will always only have this day, so if you don’t do something now, you will never do something.

Just do it!

Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible. – Francis of Assisi

Lack of Motivation?

Just do something anyways. Don’t think about the big whole thing you have to do but instead start with something small and do it. By doing something, you will get inspired and then you will get motivation.

That’s how you can overcome the lack of motivation which always feels so frustrating but you have to do something anyways and this feeling will go away.

That’s what happened to me last Sunday. I was demotivated, had nothing to do, was sitting in front of the TV and watched stupid things. And I was frustrated. I didn’t know what to do. So turned off my TV, closed my eyes and recognized those feelings I have right now and thought about the things I could do now to make this day a better day.

So instead of continuing watching TV, I let this feeling of frustration in and changed my mindset for this day. I started working out and then spent some time with my brother. Even though I didn’t do any writing or studying, I still achieved something this Sunday and that’s why my mood got up again and my frustration disappeared.

Days of Frustration

I know we all have those kind of days which are frustrating and there is no motivation to do anything. But just like I overcome this feeling, you can too. Just stop doing what you’re doing and focus on yourself and think about the things you could today. Think about all the possibilities you have to make this day better.

There are days where it’s fine to do nothing at all and just watch stupid TV shows. But don’t let it be a habit, because this will be hard to undo again.

So to conclude this post. Just do it! Even though you’re not in the mood or you’re not motivated, do it anyways. Just start with something small, just a little piece and after that every little piece of the big whole will be easier.

Just do it!

It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop. – Confucius
